I have been babysitting my two younger nephews these past few weeks and they have a particular routine. After school, they like to have a snack and relax a bit by watching cartoons. Lately they have been into watching cartoon network's featured animation called Steven Universe. Its an interesting cartoon of its combination of sci-fi, comedy, and action. While watching for the first time, I thought it was different in the sense of their animation and drawings. I was intrigued, so I researched their creator and this is where I discovered Rebecca Sugar; Animation Director.

From my research I found that Steven Universe is inspired by her brother, Steven who is in fact, the main character of the cartoon. I not only thought the graphics were cool, but I also liked how she personalized the concept of her cartoon. I stumbled across clips of her doing a Q & A for cartoon network and I really enjoyed her advice to young designers.

"Push out everything and anything that is in you. Dance, sing, draw, make music, and do whatever it is you love again but in a different way. Take something one direction and just go with it. You learn a lot with experimentation. -Rebecca
