DESIGN PROBLEM
I consider the University of New Mexico campus to be my home away from home. I have cultivated my life here for the past 3 years. I have assimilated to a way of life here, made friendships with many, and continued to thrive with my education. To me, UNM has a distinct culture, life, environment and overall experience.

If there is one thing UNM may suffer from, it is the planning of the overall campus. The transition of the "outside world" meeting campus creates some conflict and frustration. Due to the open campus nature of UNM, there are often public events hosted and during those times, there is a high rate of traffic, people and safety hazards. I do not know how many times I have seen people almost get hit.

CONCIEVE
I have a passion for the wellbeing of others, especially if it involves my fellow peers. Therefore, I thought of a plan to ensure security and safety of my fellow peers as they get from point A to point B. I thought along the lines of establishing a mechanism that enhances the circulation of campus. First, I thought of an attribute that is exclusive only to UNM students like a bridge with swipe access, that flows throughout campus where the highest traffic backups are at/high rate of accidents. This can also serve as a traffic and circulation solution.
I took the Weave Bridge at the University of Pennsylvania as precedents.
